How are mountains are formed?

Mountains are formed when a layer of Earth’s crust is pushed (forced) up in big folders or blocks slowly over the course of million of years, mountains are formed. However they are not all the same, there are many types of Mountains, which are fold. Block, dome and volcanic.

Block mountains

when a slab of land breaks off ,block mountains begin to form and they were forced up as two of Earth’s tectonic plates push together. Also, as two of Earth tectonic plates move, a big slap of land breaks off.

Dome mountain

When liquid rock inside the Earth forces the ground above it upward. The molten rock does not erupt through the crust like a volcano. Molten rock from within the Earth push up, making a dome shapes.

Fold mountain

Fold mountains are the most common type of mountain. The tectonic plates push forward slowly over the years, making more and more folds. Layers of sediment gather over course of  thousand of years.

Mountain ranges

Mountain ranges
Mountains are formed when there are to tectonic plates and they push together and when they grow bigger. Over the years they grow bigger and bigger , they never get smaller, They also never stop growing .  There are lodes of different mountains but there is always tectonic plates, but they may not look different. Some mountains can be very cold  because of  the higher you go the colder it gets . Names of the material is fold , block , dome.

Block  mountain

rook falls and creates a rang of mountains put together . Block mountains are formed when there is a range  of mountain and they fall and land on each-other. Block mountains can also be in all different sizes and some can be very tall or small. When you go up a mountain the higher you go the colder it get the lower you go the warmer it gets

How are mountains made?

Mountains are formed by the earths’ plates pushing together for millions of years to make a mountain. However , there are different types of mountains ,one  type is called a fold mountain, which is formed by the earths land  folding on top of each other  to create a mountain.  There are also more mountain types of one being a block Mountain caused by when a slab of line breaks of the Earth and is pushed together by tectonic plates and pulled apart.

Block mountains

Block mountains are formed by a slab of land separating from the earth being forced up.Two of the earths tectonic plates being forced together and pulled apart create a rock then a small mountain a very big one.

Fold mountains

Fold Mountain are caused by the ground lapping over each over creating a fold. They can also come in many shapes and sizes -they also take over 2 million years to form-. An example of this is the Himalayas and the alps-another example is the photo down below-.

Lola, you have begun to provide information on mountain formations.  Be clear in your ideas and provide details  and examples to describe the type of mountains you are writing about.  VF:  punctuation for clauses and capital letters.

How are mountains formed

Mountains are formed when a layer of Earth crust is pushed (forced) up in big folds of blocks. Slowly over the course of millions of year’s mountains are not all the same, there however many types of mountains, which are fold block, dome and volcanic mountains are jigged because they are constantly eroded by the weather. The weather wears the rocky surface away.

Block mountains

When a slab of land breaks of and is forced up a block mountains is formed this is because the tectonic plates pull apart or push together.

Tectonic are large large parts of the earth,  crust they are slowly moving .

How are mountains made?

Tectonic plates ,which is one of the layers of the Earths crust, are pushed together so hard they start going up. From a course of over a million years ,mountains are formed. There are many different mountain types from around all over the world such as:fold ,block ,dome and volcanic mountains. So this means no mountain is the same. Because mountains are constantly eroded by the weather ,they are jagged. Also the weather wears the rocky surface away.

Block mountains

For block mountains to be formed a slab of land is broken off then is forced up and it becomes a block of the mountain. When this mountain has grown enough ,there begins to be fault lines on the fault lines is common to have Earth quake’s,. Either side of the mountain is forced to go down whilst the middle is still going up this is how block mountains are made.

Dome mountains

Dome mountains form when magma liquid is pushing a piece of land up wards that creates a dome shape. The added pressure from the molten rock helps make the dome shape of the mountain. Although it has a molten rock in it ,it is not a volcanic mountain as the lava(molten rock)is not erupting through the mountain.

fold mountain

Fold mountains are one of the most common mountains. Slowly ,the tectonic plates push over each other many years pass and the tectonic plates make more and more folds. A good example is the Himalayan mountain range in Asia that mountain range is  50 million years old but for mountains that is young also there are much older mountains in the world. The Himalayan range began to form when the Indian plates started to collide with the Asian plates. Layers of sediment ,which is small amounts of rock and minerals, they also help create this mountain.

Mountains🏔 how are they formed.

How are mountains formed?

Mountains are formed when tectonic plates, which are one of many layers of earth: crust, mantle, core, lithosphere.ect, are pushed up in folds or forced up and down in blocks. Over the course of millions of years, block, fold, dome or plateaus mountains are formed. Not all mountains are the same, as each mountain is made out of different rocks, have different heights.ect. There are many different types of mountains (fold, block, dome and volcanic mountains). Mountains are constantly eroded and deformed by the weather, that’s what makes them jagged.

Block mountains

Block mountains are one of the four mountain types. These mountains are caused when a slab of land brakes off and is pushed up, whilst the other plates are pushed down. Even though block mountains are called block mountains they don’t look like blocks, this is because sand, snow and rain nibble on the edges of the mountains and smooth it out.

Dome mountains

Dome mountains, which is another one of the four mountain types, is the only one made by lava and molten rock. Because these mountains have a dome like shape, they are usually steep and hard to climb. These mountains are formed when molten rock (lava) pushes the earths crust; however, does not brake through it.

How are mountains formed

Mountains are formed when the Earths crust (tectonic plates) pushes into each other making the mountain grow. However , they are not all exactly the same to each other. There are multiple different types of mountains , which are fold,  block, dome and volcanic,.Mountains , which are constantly eroded by the weather, are very jagged. The weather removes the rocky surface.

Plateaus

Plateaus are flat areas of land found in very high places. When a mountain is created parts of Earth can drop to make a higher mountain and a lower plateau. This type of mountain can often be found in places above sea level. The highest and biggest plateau is in the Himalayan mountain range. The Tibetan plateau  is 16,400 ft (5,000m) above sea levels.

Dome

Dome mountains are when the Earths crust pushes into each other and make a dome shape. Dome mountains have liquid magma which after time hardens and makes the dome shape stay. The molten rock does not erupt through the crust like a volcano. The force of the tectonic plates make this taller.

fold

Fold mountains are the most common mountains in the world. Fold mountains are made when the Earth folds on top of the Earth. The fold mountain can be found in the Himalayan mountain range. This is the biggest mountain range and The fold mountain is the most common so it would make sense if there would be a fold mountain in the Himalayas. Humans are unsure about what the largest fold mountain is however it is in the Himalayas.

Block

Block mountains are formed when a part of the Earth falls of and is formed as two tectonic plates pull apart or push together. Block mountains look like this. This is all you need to know about the following 4 mountains. There are pictures below.
