End Of Year Report By Phoebe Stephenson

My Talents

One of the things that I feel that I am quite talented at dancing. I have been dancing with my dance school for 7 years now! Can you believe? It started when I used to go and watch my older sister dance;and I knew then that I wanted to try it. It wasn’t easy to start with, but over time and with regular practice I started improving (not only that but my enjoyment and passion for dance grew). I go to dance every Thursday, I learn a range of different routines and styles like: Jazz, Musical Theatre, Street and Hip-Hop. In February I got to do a Musical Workshop with one of the performers from ‘Cats’ the Musical which was a blast and it was so fun ( and sweaty) to learn. Each year in July I participate in a big dance show, where we showcase our group routines that we have been learning for the past 6-8 months. Normally the show is about 3 hours long, 3 hours of dancing?! Wow, let me tell you that is a lot of dancing AND a lot of costume changes! I also take part in solo and duo routines, the solos are quite nerve wracking as it is just me on stage about to perform and entertain around 400 people but at the same time exciting and exhilarating. I would love to continue to improving my dance skills and learn more complicated steps and longer routines

My Loves and Passions

One of my many passions is horse-riding, I love to horse ride because I love animals and when I ride it relaxes me and puts me in a soothing mindset for the rest of the day. Horse-riding makes me really happy and the horses I ride are amazing, the first horse I ever rode so therefore I will never forget, is a beautiful grey and white horse called ‘Bonnie’. Bonnie can be a bit stubborn at the best of times and she doesn’t like anyone touching her tail, but that is just her vibe and how she likes things (I do and always will respect that). When I’m on the horses back and I’m trotting around it makes me feel so happy inside its like someone has given you the best news you could ever imagine; I feel carefree, joyful, content and most of all like I could conquer anything. I think the reason that I love horse riding so much stems from my love of animals; I enjoy interacting with all animals. (Mainly my pet dog Jake, although I am good with most animals that I come across). I enjoy spending time with my dog, my grandmas cats and my uncles chinchilla. I like to play with them, pet them, take care of them. Mostly, doing these things calms me down, it also gives me a sense of purpose and a goal. I especially like playing games with my dog, he is crazy and funny, he also allows me to do things with him that even my dad can’t. My family are very important to me;even my big sister Hannah, who although does annoy me sometimes, is always there for me. My mum and dad are amazing! They play funny games with me, listen to me, help me and always, always know the right things to say to make me feel better if I am feeling sad or down. If any of these things that I love disappeared I would not know what to do with myself I would feel empty inside and I would have nothing left to look forward to.

My Goals

The future excites me but also scares me; it excites me because of the new opportunities and experiences that will be available to me, yet scares me at the same time because it feels like I am being pushed into the unknown. At secondary school I am truthfully looking forward the new and different lessons that I will be taught and the different teachers that I will come across. I would like to join the CCF program that runs at St Peters as I watched my sister do it for 2 years at Kimbolton it has given her opportunities that have given her memories she will never forget and I look forward to the time when I can do this. Another interest I would like to pursue at secondary school is Trampolining club and Hockey club. I am excited for these activities; because I would like to unlock new interests and hopefully make some friends whilst doing it! One of my personal goals (one I have had since I started horse riding) is to work and help around the stables that I ride at. Nothing would make me happier than to work alongside the horses! I can start this ‘job’ when I am 11-12! After Secondary School I would like to learn to drive so that I can get around easier, I feel that it would give me some freedom and independence. I would also like to pursue a career in zoo-keeping. Although I know that this is a way off into my future, but I would like a career in one of my fields of interest.
