The river Nile is about 6670 km in length and it is the longest river in Africa and also the world.

Although it is generally associated with Egypt only 22 percent runs through Egypt.

Without the Nile there would have been no ancient egyptians.

The land next to the Nile was called black land the area further away was called the red land.

The Nile flooded every year between June and September, in a season the egyptians called akhet.

The Nile will flow 300 million cubic meters every day.

The sun will evaporate 11o million bottles of water from the Nile every minute.

On Tuesday 20 November most year 6 went to London because we are looking about Men  of the Dock  .                                                                We were at  the National Galleny in London a lady showed us around the gallery.

My favourite bit is went me and my group and two more groups got lost ,we looked for the other groups,  we saw a beautiful painting.

12. In Kiawait, in the 1970s they built water towers. The middle one has 400 l of water.
13. In 1958,Masrawy  had their highest yearly rainfall, 26000 l.
14. During July,the monsoon season brings Yangon as much rain as London gets in a year.
15. The Aral sea has shrunk 90% since 1960.
16. The remaining water has became salty and killed all the fish in it.
17. The great barrier reef stretches more than 2000 km off the coast of Queensland.

WHY IS IT IMPORTANT TO SAVE WATER?                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                 A drop of water is worth more than a sack of gold to a thirsty man

 Tips to saving water:

1. Take a short 4 minute shower instead of a bath
2. Turn off the tap while you brush your teeth
3. Install a toilet with a smaller flush tank.
4. Only run your washing machine and dishwasher at a full load.
5. Fix leaking toilets and taps straight away
6. Only use the amount of water you need when making tea
7. Use a water butt to reuse rain water. You can use it for the car, garden and anything else
8. Join a community pool instead of installing one
9. Add a nozzle at the end of your hose to control how much water you use
10. Use a refillable bottle instead of washing the glass over and over again.

LASTLY…

GREY WATER!

Grey water is when you reuse water which has already been used. Many people did this during the summer heatwave.
