The National Gallery

On the 20th November 2918 the whole of year six went on a interesting trip to The National Gallery. We traveled on a coach it took about two hours to get there but we made it and it was worth it.We went to look at a painting called Men on the docks in particular but we still saw many other outstanding paintings as well.

In my opinion the most interesting painting we saw was the first one we went to.I really enjoyed this painting since it looked very realistic and it was in autumn so all of the coolers looked really pretty. As well as that the coolers were all on point and if I  compared a real leaf from autumn to it it would be the same.I also liked how there was allot to look at and lots of small hidden things for example there was a dog hidden behind a man who was hunting for food.I also liked the fact that the mansion in the painting was really detailed and had the same texture as if it were real.

I think the men at the docks looked a lot different in real life. For example there was a man in a blue jumper on the screen it looked very dark and in real life it looked a lot more vibrant and really stood, out from the others. The huge, towering ship in the picture looked allot more well done in on the screen but surprisingly in real life to me it looked rushed.

Personaly my  favourite part was when we got to look around at all the pictures and see all the different styles of art around the gallery. When we was looking around I saw an amazing realistic picture of a horse jumping. My second favrite part was when we got to go to the gift shop and spend our money. There was lots of interesting things in the gift shop and they also had art stuff for the people who wanted to do art.
