The trip to the national gallery museum

On the 20th November 2018 we set off on the bus at 7:45 AM and 3 hours later we arrived at the stunning National gallery in the historical, stone-carved, tall Trafalgar square with nelsons column in front of it. Our aim was to find our topic painting (Men of the docks by George Bellows) which we had been working on and trying to research about.

In my opinion, my favourite  painting was The Fighting Temeraire by Turner. This is because of the colours and effects he used to make this artwork including the sunset and boat. I liked the fact that I could understand why and what he was thinking when he made this. I saw that it was the end of the day and end of the boats life.

Men of the docks was different than I expected because it was much brighter, which was much better, and I could see the textures of the oil painting like for the snow. I could also see more clearly; I could see more better as for the colors and textures, as i have already mentioned.

My favourite part of the trip was looking at The Fighting Temeraire because we learnt some new facts about it and just looking at it was great. I liked looking at it, because it was so detailed and inspiring for me to go home and do something like that. We also learnt more about the artists and compared other painting to more paintings. My least favourite part was sitting in the bus because I was sick most of the time and felt a bit dizzy.
