Tudor Instruments
In Tudor Times, they had lots of different instruments until today. Back in those days, the instruments sounded a little unusual compared to the music / instruments we listen to now. On this post, I will be talking about o 3 instruments which the Tudors used to have back then.
The Lute The Lute is a plucked string instrument, looking like a guitar. By pressing the strings on different places of the fingerboard, the player can shorten or lengthen the part of the string that is vibrating, and making either higher or lower pitches.
The Rebec The rebec is like a violin, but smaller. It usually just had four strings. It was played with a bow in the Tudor Times.
Sackbut A sackbut is a type of trumpet with two parallel sliding tubes, which are used for playing the instrument in a lower range. It is used to vary the length of the tube to change the pitch.
