Leavers Assembly – HPS Letter

Huntingdon Primary School has been my school for seven years; it has been a place that has helped me grow and helped me start my life strong. Huntingdon Primary School has helped me spring to life, promptly but carefully. My time here has been made special, mostly by the teachers and Ta’s, who are extremely kind to me and who I know I can go to if I am upset.

I will miss all the great teachers and Ta’s that have taught me lots. I will also miss all the great memories I have created and all the fabulous friends I have made along the journey I have been on. One of the things I will really miss is the school trips I have been on. Some people prefer not to go on trips, I certainly do because I feel that it gives you a special time to bond with people.

My favorite memory of this school is when it had it’s 50th birthday and we all got to dress up in the time it came around. It was a time that the whole school came together and celebrated our school and it’s history. HPS is a great school and I give luck to all of the other children who are going to grow up here.

The story of Macbeth

It all starts with the three witches that say ” When shall we three meet again? In thunder lighting or in rain? When the hurly-burly’s done, when the battle’s lost and won. Meanwhile Macbeth is fighting a battle for the king.

On Macbeth’s way back to his castle with Banquo , they spot three creepy witches appear from thin air. The witches say some unusual things “All hale,Macbeth, Thane of Glamis ” , Which Macbeth is, “All hale, Macbeth, thane of Cawdor”  ,Which he isn’t, ” All hale, Macbeth, who shall be king ” ,Which he isn’t and was really surprised when the Witches said that. They also chanted to Banquo “All hale, Banquo, who’s sons shall be kings!”  Then they vanished in a flash.

After that a messenger came told Macbeth he was going to be Thane of Cawdor, which is what the witches said!

Macbeth wrote a letter to his wife telling her about the witches and arrived home soon after he was awarded the medal. They chatted for a while until Lady Macbeth had an idea to kill  the king when  he went round there.

They proceeded with the plan until the deed was done. Mcduff, another solider, found out and killed Macbeth!!!

Children in Need

For children in need everybody at my school wore something spotty to help raise money for this charity. We all co-operated  and brought in £1 if we wore something spotty.

I wore socks and put stickers of spots on them because it supports the cause and supports Pudsey bear. My mum also drew a Pudsey bear face on the side of my cheek to represent the cause.

Science

At the moment in year 6, we have been doing Science every Tuesday afternoon.

We have been learning about things to do with the heart like, the circulatory system, the upper chamber of the heart, the lower chamber of the heart, the valve and the heart muscle itself.

This week in particular has been my favourite. We have been doing excercises and pulse rate. My relaxed pulse rate was 78! After doing my anaerobic exercise, which was step-ups (outside), my pulse rate was 117!!!!!!

We haven’t done our aerobic exercise yet, but when we do I will tell you what my pulse rate is

100 word challenge

As the sun appeared the moon lifted up into the night sky. Louise knew another day of war and horror was ahead. She quickly ran into the shelter in her back garden with such fright she was trembling.

All of a sudden  the door to the shelter creaked open, it was mum. “Are you okay sweet heart?”           Louise was so frightened no words could come out, just tears that trickled down her face. The two kept in there for ages.

BANG,CRASH-a huge bomb hit the floor!  As the smoke cleared from the misty air, everyone could  see the houses obliterate.

100 word challenge- My weird dream

So let me tell you about my weird dream…

It starts off, I was at school and my teacher hadn’t come in yet. All of a sudden this massive pink giraffe stumbles through the door! After the giraffe, my teacher strolls through the door.

As my teacher is telling us why he is late, some builders start drilling. Annoyed my teacher shouts “Do it quietly!” The builders stop, as they cower under the furniture with faces as red as tomatoes.

Mr Quinlan carries on telling us and says “This is a lost giraffe that I took in,”

Then everyone laughed.

A Diary of a dog fight-part 2

Dear Diary,

Today I was awoken by blaring sirens, so I knew the battle was still on. My heart was a bit calmer than yesterday although it was still pounding quite hard.

When I found my bearings I realized I was in a hide-out and, I had a gas mask tied tightly onto my face it also smelled horrible. We needed to get out of the hide-out though because, a German spitfire was lurking around the area. I could hear it above circling menacingly.

Along our way I could hardly keep up with the rest of the bunch, so me and my little sister walked slowly for a bit, we were exhausted. As we were walking, we came across a plane that had crashed! It had the English flag on it as well!

My little sister, Ella, was so scared that she shook from head to toe. I comforted her and whispered “Everything will be fine,” and we walked closer to the plane. It had loads of food on it! Everybody had been starving for days and finally there was food! I could hardly believe my eyes, there were juicy apples and lots more exciting goodies. Ella and I shouted everyone and we all ate until dark.

I had a weird but cool day at the same time,  i’ll speak to you soon- Bye.
