Rebecca ran and ran with Matt by her side, her stomach was knotted and her head and thoughts ran in circles like a toy train, she hadn’t had much to eat since HE had locked her out, she had only had some cold baked beans last night before she attempted to fall asleep, but it isn’t  easy getting a decent night’s sleep on COLD, HARD, CONCRETE (and knowing HE was on the loose). They soon made  it into a dense forest,”I’ve never been in this part of the city..” “ Everyone always says they have sent travelers into this forest to collect food, but they have never returned, and a few months later they have found there DEAD bodies in their basement..” Rebecca went on about all the scary stories she had heard from her city friends, all of a sudden Matt stood up and walked away, Rebecca was confused as to where he was going  so she asked him “ Matt wait, where are you going?” Matt didn’t reply, so she asked again “ Matt please, where are you going? Still no reply. He then turned around and said in a robotic voice “ I’m not Matt…“ then turned back around and carried on walking. Rebecca was left speechless and staring into darkness.

She sat up against a tree and cried, she couldn’t hold it in anymore, she cried and cried until her eyes became dry and sore. Rebecca stood up and heard noise, she thought it was Matt so she shouted his name “ MATT…..MATT IS THAT YOU?” No reply. She felt a tingling sensation on the back of her neck, “ hello…?”, she could have sworn she saw a white outline of a man  staring at her, she rubbed her eyes and it was gone. “ Maybe it is just my imagination, I mean it is late..?” 

Rebecca woke up not to the sound of birds chirping but to people screaming, she suddenly shot up alarmed and looked around, there was nobody else in the forest…… there it was again, Rebecca looked around again, she was definitely alone… but then who was screaming? It was high-pitched so she assumed it was a women and they sounded terrified, like something was chasing her….it’s at this moment she realized what was so scary it was…. “ AHHHHHHH”

She heard a twig snap behind her. Then another….and another. It was footsteps, and they were getting closer and closer, so she did the only thing she could think of……she ran! She ran and ran and didn’t stop, but she could hear the crunching of dead leaves and twigs being stepped on… and they were close… she HAD to stop because if she didn’t she would surely passed out right then and there,so she crouched behind a wide tree and caught her breath, she listened closely and she didn’t hear the footsteps anymore she came out of hiding and checked to see if he had gone….but she looked over her shoulder and….

SHE had been found……

 There was no escape…..
