500 Words: The Revenge Seeker

On planet 19367…

The intergalactic space war still hasn’t ceased! The king of  Agrathar has had enough, he roared to the royal adviser, “My soldiers are struggling a lot and everyone I’ve tried to hire is just scared of a costume! Uhhhhh what am I going to do?” But then  the king had a idea. He was going to hire the most brutal man to ever live in Agrathar! He named himself the Great Guardian. Suddenly, with his eyes wide the advisor gasped, “The Great Guardian! He is … vicious, I heard he killed one of the deadliest warlord most reliable men!” “ Guards,’ the king  yelled ‘get me the Guardian”.

At the Guardians lair…

The guards trembled on the piles of corrupted skulls, the bones were cracked and as black as the eternal abyss. At the end of the lifeless path, they finally found a sign of life. A lone figure. The Guardian. As the Guardian scraped his spear clean, he muttered without ever raising his head, “ what are you here for?”.  The petrified guard stuttered, “ The k-k-king needs your h-h-help to stop the evil warlord…to stop the war once and for all!” “What’s in it for me?” The Guardian asked, still unmoving.  His nails almost completely bitten down, the scared guard said “The king will let you rejoin our society, ending your exile..” After a pause that felt an eternity, he raised his head. “I accept your challenge.”

A battle worn horse sped across the desolate wastelands, a lone traveller on the battlefield. The craters that covered this place, were as large as asteroids that had pelted the ground. “Giddy up boy go!” On the distant horizon, he finally saw them. Hundreds, no thousands of strange figures stood against the sky. The horse let out a sharp neigh and came to a sudden halt. “What is it boy?” the Guardian shouted, but then he heard the thundering of feet on the ground. The alien army charged at the Guardian, with their weapons drawn. Before could reach him, the sky turned dark. A wave of flaming arrows blocked out the sun and came hurtling towards him. Raising his great shield above his head, the arrows collided with their target. With no fear the Guardian grabbed his spear and prepared to attack. The battle was terrible, one man against a 100. But this is what he did. This is why the king had chosen him. Soon after the battle, he realised… these men were working for Slade. “Of course he is involved…” the guardian said darkly. Slade was not just a warlord…he was a demon of a man. “I need to end this…now”

At slade the killer’s palace…

The Guardian muttered “this is strange …very strange. Why is there no guards? It’s like he figured out that I’m coming. “ The door to the throne was mysteriously opened I’m going to check it out. “There you are” a voice said, “ I have been waiting for you!

That’s the end of our little tale so byyyyyeeeeee.
