Sorting 3D shapes

October 13th, 2016

This week in maths we have been exploring 3D shapes. It has been very exciting learning all about the properties of 3D shapes and we even went on a 3D shape hunt around the school.

We had a go at sorting the 3D shapes based on their properties for example we sorted them based on whether the shapes were 2D or 3D shapes. Below is an example of how we sorted them:

Into the forest

October 4th, 2016

Our topic this term is into the forest. We are really enjoying exploring this topic and finding things out in all areas of our learning. In music this week we created our own story about a forest animals such as foxes and owls and used instruments to tell the story. We performed our stories to the rest of the class! In geography we looked at man made and natural resources and in science we have been exploring the key features of trees and leaves! We are looking forward to writing our own poems next week about the seasons – watch this space to read some! Image result for forest
