Not long ago, Year 1 held a ‘Phonics with parents’ session. From the comments we had from those who attended it seemed to be a good workshop and we are determined to arrange another session soon. Here is the powerpoint we used with the games we practised and some of the helpful hints I shared.

Phonics with parents

The children in Year 1 have enjoyed learning about poems this week. We have looked at acrostic poems and have written our own today- tomorrow we will write our poem in neat and add autumnal pictures. I can’t wait to see the beautiful pieces of work we produce- I will put up pictures tomorrow!
