MY CLUB WEEK 9

January 3rd, 2018

Happy new year everyone! This week we will be looking at the facts of new years.

The early Romans used March the 1st as new years day. Other cutlers used autumn equinox or winters solstice to mark new years day.

GEORGIAN CALENDAR

The Georgian calendar, which marks the 1st of January as the new year, adopted by the Roman catholic church.

January is named after Janus, the god with 2 faces. One is looking forwards and one is looking backwards. This goes forwards to the tradition of saying something you will do in the next year.
